| Sister Theresia Aptacy Sister Theresia Aptacy, C.S.F.N., died April 14, 2004. She was 97 and a member of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth for 78 years. Born in Oakview, Pa., Sister Theresia Aptacy served the congregation in Poland, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Pennsylvania as a teacher and in other capacities. She spent 28 years in the business office at Nazareth Hospital. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 19 at the provincialate chapel. Burial was at the community cemetery. Survived by members of her congregation. John Coffey John J. Coffey, 67, of Bala Cynwyd, husband of Laura M. Coffey (born Torchia), died April 15, 2004. A lawyer, Mr. Coffey was a retired partner in the firm of Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman and Goggin of Philadelphia. He was a graduate of West Catholic Boys’ High School. He was also a graduate of Villanova University and Temple University School of Law. He was a member of the Catholic Philopatrian Literary Institute. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 20 at St. Matthias Church, Bala Cynwyd. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken. He was the father of John J. Jr., Christopher S., Timothy F. and Andrew D. Coffey. Also survived by two grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Patricia Duffy Patricia L. Duffy (born Danaher), 74, of Drexel Hill, wife of the late Thomas J. Duffy, died April 16, 2004. Mrs. Duffy was a crossing guard in Drexel Hill for many years. She was active in the alumnae of West Catholic Girls’ High School. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 21 at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Drexel Hill. Burial was at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield. She was the mother of Kathleen M. Leonard, Patricia D. McDowell, Thomas J. Jr., Dennis M., Brian C., Christopher D. and Eileen M. Duffy. She was a sister of Mary Jane Bones. Also survived by 16 grandchildren. Susanne Felice Susanne F. Felice (born Sheldon), 82, of Springfield, died April 12, 2004. Mrs. Felice was a nurse in the Army during World War II. She was active with the Delaware County Pro-Life Coalition. A memorial Mass was celebrated April 15 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Springfield. She was the mother of Robert, Dante, Christopher, Jan, Faith D’Urbano, Jeanine Chunn and Mary Francisco. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Margaret Gavin Margaret Gavin (born Huggins), 73, of Linwood, N.J., formerly of Broomall, died April 11, 2004. She was the wife of the late Michael J. Gavin. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 14 at St. Joseph Church, Somers Point, N.J. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing, N.J. She was the mother of Michael Gavin, Christine Dziena and Deborah McAuliffe. Richard Gessner Sr. Richard S. Gessner Sr., husband of the late Frances M. Gessner (born Maley), died April 10, 2004. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 16 at St. Albert the Great Church. Burial was at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem. He was the father of Cynthia DiPasquale, Charlene, Richard S. Jr.; stepfather of Mark T. Long Sr. Also survived by two grandchildren. Father Augustine Hennessy Passionist Father Augustine P. Hennessy, 90, died April 8, 2004 in Holyoke, Mass. Formerly of Philadelphia, Father Hennessy was a graduate of West Catholic Boys’ High School. During more than 50 years of active ministry, he served as president and secretary of the Catholic Theological Society of America and was editor of Sign Magazine. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 13 at Mont Marie in Holyoke. Burial was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield, Mass. Surviving is a sister, Sister Ellen Hennessy, I.H.M.; a sister-in-law, Marie Hennessy; nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and a cousin, Father James F. Hughes. Gertrude McGonagle Gertrude I. McGonagle (born Meyers) of Ardsley died April 11, 2004. She was the wife of the late William J. McGonagle. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 14 at Queen of Peace Church, Ardsley. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham. She was the mother of Robert J., Elizabeth A. Kelly, William G., George and Vincent. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was a sister of Dorothy Rejniak. Helen Moak Helen Moak, 85, of Chestnut Hill, wife of the late Lennox L. Moak, died April 12, 2004. Mrs. Moak was one of the founders of the Chesnut Hill Local and was a director of the Chestnut Hill Community Association. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 15 at Our Mother of Consolation Church. She was the mother of Lynn Martin, Sandra Lee, Smokey and Jefferson Monroe II. Also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Msgr. Edward Mullen Msgr. Edward F. Mullen, 75, of Stratford, N.J., died April 11, 2004. Msgr. Mullen was born in Philadelphia and served in parishes in the Camden Diocese. Since his retirement in 2002, he resided at St. Luke Parish in Stratford. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 16 at St. Luke Church. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing, N.J. Surviving are nieces and nephews. Sister Perpetua Taylor Sister Perpetua Taylor, S.S.J., the former Elizabeth Jane Taylor, died April 9, 2004. She was 76. Born in Westernport, Md., Sister Perpetua entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1949. She served in the Philadelphia and Newark Archdioceses and the Allentown, Harrisburg and Wilmington Dioceses. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 13 at St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown. Burial was at the community cemetery. She is the sister of Sister Alma Dolorine, S.S.J., Margaret Everline, Rose Naughton, Catherine Rice and the late James, Robert, John Wesley, Daniel and Barbara Taylor. Also survived by nieces, nephews and members of her congregation.
