| Compiled by Joe Novetsky Leonard Amoroso Sr. Leonard Amoroso Sr., 84, of Wynnewood, husband of Marie Amoroso (born Manchio), died Dec. 4, 2004. Mr. Amoroso was the retired co-owner of Amoroso Baking Co. During World War ll, he served in the Army in Germany. The funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 9 at Presentation B.V.M. Church, Wynnewood. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon. He was the father of Leonard Amoroso Jr. and Diane Harloe. Also survived by four grandchildren. He was a brother of Daniel and Salvatore. Sister Catherine Barrett Sister Catherine Barrett, S.B.S., died Nov. 23, 2004. She was 88 and a Sister of the Blessed Sacrament for 68 years. Born in County Tipperary, Ireland, Sister Catherine was an educator, principal and administrator. She was a resident of St. Michael Hall, Bensalem, since 2000 and served in missions throughout the U.S. The funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 29 at the motherhouse in Bensalem. Surviving are members of her congregation. Sister Mary Collier Sister Mary DePorres Collier, C.S.S.F., a Felician Sister for 41 years, died Oct. 21, 2004. She was 66. Sister DePorres was a registered nurse. Born in Birmingham, Ala., She ministered at St. Joseph Hospital, Philadelphia, from 1969 to 1971 and again from 1973 to 1981. The funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 27 at Holy Family Church, Birmingham, Ala., with Bishop David E. Foley of Birmingham presiding. A Mass was also celebrated at the motherhouse in Lodi, N.J. Burial was at Lodi. Surviving are four sisters, Thelma L. Thomas, Agnes Collier Holt, Irma L. Horton and Clydis Howard; a brother, William L. Collier, and members of her congregation. Sister Mary Esmonde Sister Mary Elizabeth Esmonde, R.S.M., died Nov. 30, 2004. She was 83. Sister Mary Elizabeth professed vows as a Sister of Mercy in 1945. She taught in schools in the Philadelphia Archdiocese and held supervisory positions at area hospitals. The funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 5 at the motherhouse in Merion. Burial was at the community cemetery. Surviving are two brothers, William and Laurence; two sisters, Ann Geary and Patricia Esmonde; also members of her congregation. Lillian Flaherty Lillian O. Flaherty (born Owens), 72, of Abington, wife of the late William C. Flaherty, died Nov. 20, 2004. The funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 24 at St. Teresa of Avila Church, Norristown. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon. She was the mother of Kathleen Burden, Susan Waskiewicz, Jacqueline Toner and Dana Worthington. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was a sister of Brother John Owens, F.S.C., Winifred Shimp, Mary Rodgers, S. Marjorie Baker, Catherine Conlee, John T. Owens and Patricia Rock. Roberta Flanigan Roberta D. (Bobbie) Flanigan (born Dennis), 85, of West Bristol, wife of Ambrose R. Flanigan Jr., died Nov. 28, 2004. Mrs. Flanigan had a long career in nursing, working at Lower Bucks County Hospital and later with Dr. Nicholas J. Ferry. The funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 2 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Croydon. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville. She was the mother of Robert R. Flanigan. Also survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings Howard Dennis, Frances MacClain and Althea Dennis. Sister Cecilia Hennessey Sister Cecilia Marie Hennessey, O.P., died Nov. 18, 2004 at the age of 85. Sister Cecilia Marie entered the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine de Ricci in 1944. She was engaged principally in the residence ministry of the congregation. She retired to St. Catherine Hall, Elkins Park, in 2000. The funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 22 at Elkins Park. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham. Surviving are a brother, Edmund; two sisters, Elizabeth Hughes and Ann Koch; nieces, nephews and cousins; and members of her congregation. Donald Pascucci Donald J. Pascucci, 80, of Newtown Square, died Nov. 28, 2004. He was the husband of Elizabeth F. Pascucci (born Leichsenring). Mr. Pascucci served for 24 years as vice president of finance at St. Joseph’s University. Later, he served as treasurer at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. He was also active in sports and local politics. The funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 2 at St. Anastasia Church, Newtown Square. He was the father of Linda M. Heaslip and Donald F. Pascucci. Also survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Elizabeth Scully Elizabeth A. Scully (born Weinmann) wife of Vincent J. Scully, died Nov. 30, 2004. The funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 4 at Divine Mercy Church. Burial was at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield. She was the mother of Bet Williams, Vincent III, and Ricky. Also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Helen Schell. Emma Sperduto Emma Sperduto (born Iannuzzi), 88, wife of the late Victor Sperduto, died Oct. 4, 2004. The funeral Mass was celebrated at Queen of Peace Church, Ardsley. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham. Surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Mary Criniti, Ann Bielat, Vicenza Cerrato, Jerry and Philip Iannuzzi, and the late Silvio and Frank Iannuzzi. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
