Helen Calabrese
Helen E. Calabrese, 64, of Bel Air, Md., died Feb. 15, 2005. She formerly lived in Lansdowne for 37 years.
She was the daughter of Walter and Mildred Niemczyk Misterka and wife of Rev. Mr. Peter J. Calabrese.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 19 at St. Ignatius Church, Forest Hills, Md. Burial was at St. Ignatius Cemetery.
She was the mother of Father Peter M. Calabrese, C.R.S.P., Christina Calland and Michele Piercy.
Also survived by four grandchildren; one brother, Robert Misterka.
She was predeceased by a brother, Walter Misterka Jr.


Sister Michael Chinchilli
Sister M. Michael Francis Chinchilli, I.H.M., the former Frances Anna Chinchilli, died Feb. 9, 2005. She was 85.
Born in Norristown, Sister Michael Francis entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1943.
She served in the Allentown Diocese and the Philadelphia Archdiocese.
She retired to Camilla Hall, Immaculata, in 2004.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 14 at Camilla Hall. Burial was at Immaculata.
Surviving are a sister, Josephine Mathewson, and members of her congregation.


Mary Hannigan

Mary V. Hannigan, 89, of Lafaytte Hill, a retired chemist, died Feb. 9, 2005.
Miss Hannigan was a chemist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 40 years. She retired in 1984.
She published several scientific articles.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 14 at St. Philip Neri Church, Lafayette Hill. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
Surviving are a grandniece, grandnephews and others.
She was preceded in death by siblings Theresa Smith, Cornelius, Joseph, James and John Hannigan.


Sister Mary Homel

Sister Mary Theresa Homel, S.S.J., formerly Sister Peter Damian, died Feb. 5, 2005. She was 82.
Born in Philadelphia, Sister Mary Theresa entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1942.
She served in the Philadelphia Archdiocese and the Allentown and Camden Dioceses.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 10 at St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown. Burial was at the community cemetery.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Homel and a sister, Anne Piotrowski.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Florence Homel; nieces; nephews; and other members of her congregation.


Sister Rosaire Little
Sister Rosaire Marie Little, I.H.M., the former Mary E. Little, died Feb. 8, 2005 at the age of 77.
Born in Philadelphia, Sister Rosaire Marie entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1945.
She served in the Harrisburg and Allentown Dioceses and the Philadelphia Archdiocese. She also served in Chile and New Jersey.
She retired to Camilla Hall, Immaculata, in 1999.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 11 at Camilla Hall. Burial was at Immaculata.
Surviving are a sister, Gertrude Picuri, and members of her congregation.


John Naab
John E. Naab, 78, of Havertown, died Feb. 16, 2005.
Mr. Naab was a 1958 graduate of St. Joseph’s University.
He was a member of The Verdi Band, Chester City Band and Merion Symphony Orchestra.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 21 at Sacred Heart Church, Manoa. Burial was at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
He was a brother of Beatrice Naab, Sister Margaret Naab, S.H.C.J., Sister Marie Kathryn Naab, S.H.C.J., and Theresa Blaney.


Iwan Skoczylas
Iwan Skoczylas, 93, husband of the late Pauline Skoczylas (born Skirka), died Feb. 13, 2005.
Mr. Skoczylas was editor of Shliakh, a Ukrainian Catholic weekly. He also assisted in the Ukrainian Chancery Office.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 19 at the Ukrainian Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception B.V.M.
He was the father of Elehie and Roma Dockhorn.
Also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.


Daniel Taddeo
Daniel Taddeo, 92, of Havertown, husband of Helen Taddeo (born Pitone), died Feb. 9, 2005.
Mr. Taddeo was the owner of Taddeo Greenhouses.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 14 at St. Denis Church, Havertown. Burial was at St. Denis Cemetery.
He was the father of Daniel J. Taddeo, Rosemary Taddeo and Diane Devlin.
Also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was a brother of Rosemarie D’Orazio.


Edward Walczak
Edward M. Walczak, husband of the late Eleanor Walczak, died Dec. 8, 2004.
Mr. Walczak was a funeral director in the city’s Bridesburg/Frankford area for over 60 years.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 13 at St. John Cantius Church. Burial was at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
He was the father of Deborah and Edward J.
Also survived by four grandchildren; four brothers and one sister.
