| Compiled by Joe Novetsky Frances Cannon Frances R. Cannon (born Hanlon), 88, wife of the late Henry Cannon, died Feb. 14, 2005. The funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 19 at St. Michael Church. Burial was at New Cathedral Cemetery. She was the mother of Mark Cannon and the late Regina Della Donna and the late Ronald Cannon. Also survived by six grandchildren; a brother, Father Robert P. Hanlon, O.S.F.S., and sisters Elaine Vadden and Kathleen Chorlton. She was the sister of the late Rosanna Hanlon Gassner and the late Hanlon brothers, Joseph, Vincent, William and Thomas. Florence Cowan Florence E. Cowan (born Murphy), 76, of Haverford, wife of the late Lawrence P. Cowan, died April 15, 2005. Mrs. Cowan was the owner of Cowan’s Flowers, Broomall. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 21 at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, Bryn Mawr. She was the mother of Raymond, Christopher, Lawrence Paul, Jo Ann and Sharon Doucette. Also survived by four grandchildren and two brothers, Jack and Raymond Murphy. Laura Drachowski Laura Drachowski (born Pietrowski), wife of the late Francis E. Drachowski Sr., died April 16, 2005. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 22 at St. John Cantius Church. Burial was at Holy Redeemer Cemetery. She was the mother of Lucille Fraser, Francis E. Jr. and Bernadette Ubele. Also survived by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a sister, Victoria Janka. Mary Hannigan Mary Hannigan (born Cunningham), 88, wife of the late Vincent M. Hannigan, died April 18, 2005. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 22 at St. Martha Church. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham. She was the mother of Vincent, George, John and the late Gerard. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Al Cunningham. Sister Mary Jannazo Sister M. Louis Francis Jannazo, S.B.S., the former Catherine Carmel Jannazo, died April 20, 2005 at the age of 95. Sister M. Louis Francis entered the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament in 1936. She served in the African American apostolate as an elementary school teacher in Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio; Chicago, Ill; New York City; Eunice and New Orleans, La. and Washington, D.C. She also served in Pala, Calif. and New Mexico. In 1991 she returned to her order’s motherhouse in Bensalem. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 25 in Bensalem. Burial was at the community cemetery. Surviving are sisters, Genevieve, Rose, Carmella, Grace, Geraldine and Virginia; a brother, Frank; nieces and nephews, and members of her congregation. She was preceded in death by sisters Angela and Mary, and brothers Anthony and Thomas. Sister M. C. McGowan Sister Maria Concetta McGowan, S.B.S., the former Kathleen V. McGowan, died April 20, 2005. She was 91. Born in Philadelphia, Sister Maria Concetta entered the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament in 1936. She taught in elementary schools in Louisianna, Texas and New York. She served as principal at Xavier Preparatory School in New Orleans and St. Michael Indian School in Arizona. Sister Maria Concetta was regional superior of the deep south from 1963 to 1970, and vice president of the congregation from 1970 to 1980. She also served at the motherhouse in Bensalem. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 27 at the motherhouse. Burial was at the motherhouse. Surviving are nieces, nephews and members of her congregation. Sister Mary M. de Porres Sister Mary Martin de Porres McKenna, S.B.S., the former Mary Imelda McKenna, died April 21, 2005 at the age of 100. She entered the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament in 1937. Sister Mary Martin de Porres’ work and mission were filled with visiting homes, hospitals and nursing centers, and the catechetical instruction of children and adults in Philadelphia, Boston, New York and Fresno, Calif. She returned to the motherhouse in Bensalem in 1994. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 28 at the motherhouse. Burial was at the motherhouse. Surviving are a nephew, four nieces, grandnieces, grandnephews and members of her congregation. Joanne Shields Joanne J. Shields (born Winzig), wife of Thomas Shields, died April 17, 2005. The funeral Mass was celebrated April 22 at St. William Church. Burial was at St. Dominic Cemetery. She was the mother of T. Francis and Mary Kate Ferry. Also survived by six grandchildren. She was a sister of Dolores Zarnitz.
