West Catholic dominates relays


Breaking her own record

She set a new meet record in the 400M Hurdles with a time of 57.44, breaking the record that she had set in 2004 by .4 seconds. Leach is planning to attend UCLA. She has been offered a full athletic scholarship to the university.


Kneshia Sheard, West Catholic, takes the hand-off from Latavia Thomas in the High School Girls 4X100M “Small Schools” relay. Sheard anchored the team to victory with a time of 47.18 seconds.


Latavia Thomas runs third for West Catholic in the High School Girls 4X100M “Tri-State” relay. The team of Christiana Taylor, Nicole Leach, Thomas and Kneshia Sheard won the event with a time of 47.16 seconds.

Nia Ali runs third for West Catholic, after recovering the baton which she dropped during the hand-off, in the High School Girls 4X400M Relay Championship of America. West went on to finish third with a time of 3:43.52.

Winners from other Catholic Schools

Archbishop McDevitt’s Julian Edwards started off the anchor leg of the High School Boys 4X400M Catholic League relay in third place. He recovered enough ground to put the team in first place with a time of 3:26.79, just ahead of Father Judge (3:27.27) and St. Joseph’s Prep (3:28.29).



Liz Kearins anchored the Gwynedd Mercy Academy 4X800M relay team to a victory in the High School Girls “Small Schools” division with a time of 9:08.76.
