From the Pope Benedict XVI Supplement:
Letters from the Pope
Just three months before he died of cancer last year, Msgr. Thomas J. Herron, the former pastor of St. Laurence Parish in Upper Darby, received a personal letter from his former boss, then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI.

In this issue:

Prayer:
Pope Benedict on the Eucharist: The medicine of immortality
The Israelites thought they were the luckiest people on earth to have God so near that He would actually make the heavens rain bread, and would stoop so low as to speak to them through Moses.

Dear Religious Jubilarians,
It is with great pleasure that I extend to you my sincerest congratulations and prayerful best wishes as you celebrate your Jubilee in the consecrated life....

At the center of our Eucharistic experience: Reverence
Reverence, reverence, reverence. The contemplative nuns in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, like true contemplatives everywhere, provide through their lifelong attendance to the Eucharist the best example of how we can center our lives around Christ.
St. Charles Seminary library honors

Archdiocesan charitable efforts continue for Katrina’s victims
It is said that charity begins at home. In the Philadelphia Archdiocese, charity clearly begins in the parish and schoolhouse as well.

Walking with the Lord:
Pope Benedict on Eucharistic processions

Thousands of Catholics will gather around the Eucharist in Logan Circle on Sept. 18. The lawyer will stand beside the teacher, the shopkeeper beside the athlete. People from all walks of life will stand side-by-side and participate in one of the most ancient traditions in the Church — the eucharistic procession.
