Walter Hartnett, 86, dies
Father Walter J. Hartnett, 86, a retired priest and resident of Villa
St. Joseph in Darby, died Thursday, May 25, 2006. Auxiliary Bishop Robert
P. Maginnis was scheduled to celebrate Father Hartnett’s funeral
Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 1, at St. Francis Country House in Darby.

Marie Ariano
Marie I. Ariano (born McBride), 86, of Abington, wife of Michael E. Ariano,
died May 20, 2006. Mrs. Ariano was a registered nurse and worked at Abington
Hospital and in the Upper Moreland School District. She served in the
Army Nursing Corps during World War II. The funeral Mass was celebrated
May 24 at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Abington. Burial was at
SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield. She was the mother of Marie
S. Dinon and Nancy E. Filosa. She was a sister of the late John McBride,
Helen Higgins and Madelaine Sprggins. Also survived by seven grandsons.
William Braxton
William O. Braxton, 79, of Wayne, husband of the late Mary Theresa Braxton
(born Murphy), died May 15, 2006. Mr. Braxton was the owner of Braxton
Animal Works, a pet supply store, in Strafford. He was past president
of the Wayne Business Association and a member of the Main Line Chamber
of Commerce. The funeral Mass was celebrated May 19 at Our Lady of the
Assumption Church, Strafford. Burial was at Valley Forge Memorial Garden,
King of Prussia. He was the father of John and David Braxton, Barbara
Giangiulio, Alison Gervasi, Pamele Braxton, Cine Braxton and Jennifer
Braxton. Also survived by 18 grandchildren.
Rose Conroy
Rose D. Conroy (born Stankovics), 95, formerly of Manayunk, wife of the
late Joseph A. Conroy, died May 14, 2006. The funeral Mass was celebrated
May 18 at Holy Family Church. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
She was the mother of Rosemarie Varrell, Eleanor Queppet and Theresa Kohm.
Also survived by nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Sister M. Davidica
Sister M. Davidica, S.B.S., the former Theresa Helen Kistner, died May
6, 2006. She was 87 and a Sister of the Blessed Sacrament for 66 years.
Born in Philadelphia, Sister Davidica was a graduate of John W. Hallahan
High School. Her first assignment was to St. Ignatius Parish in Philadelphia.
She also served in South Dakota, New Mexico and Arizona. For many years,
she served as sacristan at the motherhouse in Bensalem. The funeral Mass
was celebrated May 9 at the motherhouse. Burial was at the Community cemetery.
Surviving are Sister M. Clare Kistner, S.B.S., Claire Grumbly and Dorothy
Penrose and members of her congregation.
Laura Dombrowski
Laura Dombrowski (born Presner), wife of the late Alfred B. Dombrowski,
died May 14, 2006. The funeral Mass was celebrated May 17 at St. John
Cantius Church. Burial was at Holy Redeemer Cemetery. She was the mother
of Joan Young, Vivian Braubitz and Alfred B. Dombrowski. Also survived
by six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of
Helen Wendoloski, John Presner and Irene Kogul.
Thomas McNally
Thomas J. McNally of Ridley Park, husband of Elizabeth A. McNally (born
Kelly), died May 20, 2006.
The funeral Mass was celebrated May 24 at St. Madeline Church, Ridley
Park. Burial was at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield. He was the
father of James T, Kennedy, Judith A. McGovern and Michael K. McNally.
Also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was
a brother of Margaret Eldred, James McNally, Mary McGinnes and the late
Frank and Connie McNally.
Jeanne O’Reilly
Jeanne O’Reilly (born Tynan) of Lafayette Hill died May 12, 2006.
The funeral Mass was celebrated May 15 at Our Mother of Consolation Church,
Chestnut Hill. She was the mother of Henry F. O’Reilly III, Katie
Porter and Jenny Sweeney. Also survived by eight grandchildren.
Ralph Schneider
Ralph F. Schneider of Gwynedd Valley, son of the late Ralph Sr. and Marguerite
C. Schneider, died May 20, 2006. The funeral Mass was celebrated May 23
at St. Rose of Lima Church, North Wales. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery.
He was a brother of Ann Donaldson, Mary Lou Heckler, Joseph A. and George
W. Also survived by five nieces and two nephews.
