The title of Our Lady of Vladimir takes us halfway across the world to the country of Russia, and has its origins in the ancient Byzantine tradition of the Eastern Church. Sometimes referred to as “the soul of Russia,” the icon of Our Lady of Vladimir remains one of the most revered and important of Russian devotional artifacts.
