‘apostles’ of His Sacred Heart

Many Catholics are especially familar with the Sacred Heart devotion revealed by God to St. Margaret Mary Alocoque, and with the promises to those who practice the devotion.

Msgr. Palmieri: Jubilarians are ‘quite a workforce’
There are, in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, 88 religious orders of congregations for women or men, both large and small. Msgr. Alexander J. Palmieri, chancellor of the Archdiocese, is also its Vicar for Consecrated Life, and one of his most pleasant duties is the coordination of the annual Religious Jubilarian celebration, which, this year, will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul.

A life well-lived
The unexpected death of Daniel Parrillo, 57, the beloved South Philadelphia teacher turned seminarian, shocked the Catholic world in Philadelphia, Camden and West Orange, N.J
.

West Catholic:
King of religious vocations

At West Philadelphia Catholic High School “West is Best” isn’t just a jingle when it comes to religious vocations, it’s a fact.

Three Sisters of Charity establish the first women’s religious community in Philadelphia
They arrived in Philadelphia without a clue as to where they were going. The three had taken vows as Sisters of Charity of St. Joseph and carried few personal effects, but had great trust in God and a burning desire to help orphaned, destitute children.
