Night at the Races
• St. Basil Academy Parents’ Club presents a Night at the Races/Monte Carlo Night at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26. For tickets or more information, call (215) 663-8062.

• Our Lady of Peace Parish, Milmont Park, presents its annual Night at the races at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 in the school cafeteria. Cost: $25. Horses must be purchased by Jan. 30. Vigils for Life
The Helpers of God’s Precious Infants will conduct a vigil Saturday, Feb. 2, at Christ the King Church. Following the 7 a.m. Mass, the clergy and congregation will pray the rosary at a nearby abortion center. A vigil will also be held at 8 a.m. Feb. 2 at St. Agnes Church, West Chester. Following the Mass, the clergy and congregation will pray the rosary at a nearby abortion site.

Anniversary Celebration
Queen of the Universe School, Levittown, will celebrate its 50th anniversary with Mass at noon, Jan. 27. An open house will follow. All former students and faculty are invited.

Triduum
St. John Bosco Church, Hatboro, will hold a Triduum for St. John Bosco’s feast day, beginning at 7 p.m. Jan. 29. Evening prayer with Benediction will be celebrated Jan. 29 and 30. A solemn Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Jan. 31. For more information, call (215) 672-7280.

Fundraiser

The 35th Police District will hold a beef-and-beer benefit at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at the National Guard Armory, Southampton Road and Roosevelt Boulevard. Proceeds will go to the late Officer Chuck Cassidy’s family. For tickets, call P/O Barbara Blackford at (267) 736-1748.

Parish Celebration
Our Lady of Calvary Parish continues to celebrate 50 years of parish life with a Mass honoring its founding pastor, Msgr. George Wierzalis, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31. A social will follow in the gym. All former and present members of the parish community are invited to attend.

Winter Retreat for Women

The Mother Boniface Spirituality Center will hold a mid-winter retreat for women Saturday, Feb. 9, thru Sunday, Feb. 10 at the center. The theme is “Earth Songs: Praying with Nature.” Cost: $65. A deposit of $25 is due by Jan. 31. For more information or to register, call (215) 335-7541.

• St. John the Evangelist Catholic School in Morrisville, will host an open house from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27. Washington, D.C., Trip
