Mildred M. Pluck
Mildred M. Pluck, formerly Taggert, of Erdenheim, died on Jan. 13, 2008. She was 89. She was the wife of the late John J. Pluck; mother of John J. Jr., Joseph P., Lawrence F. and Kevin J; grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Jan. 17 at St. Genevieve Church, Flourtown. Interment was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Sister Mary Clarence Kilgarriff
Sister Mary Clarence Kilgarriff, I.H.M., formerly known as Nora Kilgarriff, died on Jan. 15, 2008 at Camilla Hall, Immaculata. She was 90. Born in Philadelphia, she graduated from West Catholic Girls High School. She taught in elementary and secondary school in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for 43 years. She also taught in the Diocese of Allentown. After completing her master’s degree in mathematics from Boston College, she co-authored “Progress in Mathematics and Improving Computational Skills.” She retired to Camilla Hall in 1997. She was predeceased by three brothers, Father John Kilgarriff, Cornelius and Thomas Kilgarriff, and two sisters, Mary McGuire and Helen Kilgarriff. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Jan. 18 at Camilla Hall. Burial was at Immaculata. She is survived by a sister, Rose Mavy, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and members of her congregation.

Sister M. Therese Agnes Bell
Sister M. Therese Agnes Bell, I.H.M., formerly known as Hannah C. Bell, died on Jan. 20, 2008 in Camilla Hall, Immaculata. She was 101. Born in Philadelphia, she entered the congregation in 1926. In her years of ministry in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, she taught and served on administrative posts on the elementary and secondary school levels. Her last mission was at St. Maria Goretti High School, where she served for 17 years. She also served in the dioceses of Allentown and Harrisburg. She was predeceased by four brothers, Frank, Robert, William and Charles, and one sister, Mary Bell. A funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 23 at Camilla Hall, with burial at Immaculata. She is survived by members of her religious community.

Rita Marie Noonan
Rita Marie Noonan, formerly McLaughlin, died on Jan. 23, 2008. She was 94. Formerly of St. Francis Xavier Parish, Philadelphia, she worked in various positions throughout her life, most notably as the cook at Holy Martyrs Parish, Oreland. She was the wife of the late William Noonan Jr. and mother of Rita Burton, Kathleen D’Anna, William Noonan and the late Clare Poole. She was predeceased by her brothers, Dennis, Joseph, William, Francis and Charles; sisters, Margaret Noone and Catherine Quinlan; and a grandson, Michael Burton. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Jan. 28 at St. John Neumann Nursing Home by her nephew, Father Charles J. Noone. Interment was at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem. She is survived by her sisters, Anna Leisner, Marie Devine, Helen Young; her brother, John McLaughlin; nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Sister Mary Anne Brown
Sister Mary Anne Brown, O.S.F., formerly Sister Mary Liguori, died on Jan. 28, 2008 in Assisi House, Aston. She was 87 years old and a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 66 years. Born in Wilmington, Del., she earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Mt. St. Mary University, Emmitsburg Md., and a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. After 44 years of ministry in the Archdiocese of Baltimore and the Diocese of Wilmington, she served for 22 years in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. She worked in the congregational offices for the Sisters of St. Francis in Aston and then served in prayer ministry there until her death. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Jan. 31, followed by burial in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Aston. She is survived by her nieces, nephews and her Franciscan family.

Maria T. Mazzotta
Maria T. Mazzotta, formerly of Darby Borough and Arrowhead Lakes, Pocono Lake, Pa., died from complications of emphysema on Jan. 28, 2008 at Highgate at Paoli Pointe, Paoli. Born to the late John and Mary Sheehan, she was a member of the class of 1950 at West Catholic High School for Girls. In 1960 she married Orlando “Orrie” Mazzotta and moved to Darby, where she was a member of Blessed Virgin Mary Parish. She was the mother of Vincent J. Mazzotta, Kathleen T. Reilly, Theresa A. Seivard and the late Patty Ann Mazzotta. She was a full-time homemaker until 1978 when she resumed her career in banking. She retired from First Fidelity Bank in 1998. She was the 1980 recipient of the Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary Mother of the Year Award. She was predeceased by her brother, John “Jack” Sheehan, and her sisters, Kathleen Warren and Nancy Smith. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Feb. 1 at Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Burial was at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery. She is survived by her sister, Claire Konowal.
