Father Denny, 74, pastor of
St. Bartholomew Parish, dies


Father Joseph P. Denny, pastor of St. Bartholomew Parish, Philadelphia, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at St. Barth-olomew Rectory. He was 74.

He had also served as pastor of Corpus Christi, Assumption B.V.M. and Our Lady of Victory parishes, all in Philadelphia.

Father Denny was born Nov. 9, 1933 in Philadelphia. He was ordained May 20, 1967 at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul in Philadelphia.

Auxiliary Bishop Joseph P. McFadden is scheduled to celebrate Father Denny’s funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6 at St. Bartholomew Church. Interment will be at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Penndel.

Barbara A. DeCarolis

Barbara A. DeCarolis of North Wales, died Feb. 20, 2008 at her residence. She was 50. Born in Philadelphia to the late William Lynn and the late Marie Lynn, formerly McGorry, she was the wife of Rick DeCarolis and mother of Megan, Kaitlin and Julianne DeCarolis. She was also the sister of Msgr. William Lynn, pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Downingtown; Patty Lynn, Jim Lynn, Marie Baugh, Michael Lynn and the late Thomas Lynn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Feb. 26 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Horsham. Burial was at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

Sister Mary Rosaire Dombrowski
Sister Mary Rosaire Dombrowski, formerly Leocadia Dombrowski, died on Feb. 11, 2008. She was 97. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she entered the Felician Sisters in Lodi, N.J., in 1927. Her professional background included a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Seton Hall University. She ministered as an elementary educator in schools staffed by the Felician sisters in New Jersey and Pennsylvania including St. Laurentius, Philadelphia, and Our Lady of Good Counsel, Southampton. She also ministered at St. Joseph’s Hospital/North Philadelphia Health System in Philadelphia. From 2002 until her death she lived in the Felician Sisters’ Infirmary. A funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 14 at the Felician Sisters’ infirmary chapel followed by burial in the Felician Sisters’ cemetery, Lodi. She is survived by several members of her extended family.

Sister Roberta McInerney
Sister Roberta McInerney, S.H.C.J., formerly Mother M. St. Cecilia McInerney, died on Feb. 21, 2008 at Holy Child Infirmary, Rosemont. She was 76. Born in New York, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Kathryn McInerney. She earned her bachelor’s degree in history from Fordham University and her master’s degree in theology from Manhattan College, N.Y. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Feb. 26 at New Sharon Chapel, Rosemont. Interment followed at Calvary cemetery, West Conshohocken. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn McInerney Billings, and nieces and nephews.
