Sister Mary Dulcis Pilachowska, C.S.S.F.
Sister Mary Dulcis Pilachowska, C.S.S.F., formerly Josephine Pilachowska, died on April 30, 2008, in Lodi, N.J. She was 95. She entered the postulancy of the Felician Sisters in Lodi, N.J., where she professed her final vows in 1938. She earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts at the Catholic University of America and a master’s degree in religious education at Providence College. Funeral Mass was held on Monday, May 5, at the Infirmary Chapel, Our Lady of Lourdes Hall. Burial followed at the Felician Sisters’ Cemetery in Lodi, N.J.
Dr. James J. Breslin Sr.
Dr. James J. Breslin Sr., of Michigan, formerly of Springfield, Pa., died on June 12, 2008. He was born in Philadelphia to the late James and Catherine Breslin. He graduated from West Catholic Boys High School, in 1946 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army for 22 months. He attended LaSalle College, graduated in 1951, then attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in 1956. He completed his internship and residency in Detroit, Mich., and settled in Troy, Mich., where he practiced medicine for 35 years. During his career he delivered over 3,000 babies. He returned to Philadelphia often throughout his career to visit his parents, family and friends. Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, June 14, at St. Joseph Church in Trenton, Mich. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, JoAnna, and their four children, Catherine, James Jr., Stephanie and Scott; two sisters, Kathleen and Janet; a brother, John and six grandchildren.
Sister Mary Austin Zinkiewicz, O.S.F.
Sister Mary Austin Zinkiewicz, O.S.F., formerly Elizabeth Cecilia Zinkiewicz, died on June 22, 2008. She was 84. She was born to the late Thomas and Mary Zinkiewicz. She served as assistant dean of students at Alvernia College, Reading; principal at St. Anthony, Reading; St. Hedwig, Chester; superior and principal at St. Titus, East Norriton; St. John the Evangelist, Morrisville; and community school supervisor at Sacred Heart Provincial House, Reading. She is predeceased by two brothers and six sisters. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, June 25 at Sacred Heart Convent Chapel, Reading.
Sister Marian Bruno, M.P.F.
Sister Marian Bruno, M.P.F., died on June 21, 2008 at St. Joseph Hall, Morristown, NJ. She was 89. She entered the Religious teachers Filippini in 1931 and made her religious profession in 1938. She was born to the late Vincent and Benedetta Iani. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in languages from Catholic Teachers College, Providence, R.I. She taught at St. James, Trenton; St. Nicholas of Tolentine, Philadelphia; and Our Lady of Pompeii, Baltimore. She was convent superior at St. Anthony, Watertown, N.Y. and St. Nicholas of Tolentine, Philadelphia. She is predeceased by her brothers Joseph and Anthony, and her sisters Betty, Mary and Josephine. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, June 25 at the St. Lucy Chapel, Villa Walsh, Morristown, N.J.
