Travel
St Cyril’s Church, Jamison, will host a trip to Oberammergau for the Passion Play 2010, and visit the imperial cities — Vienna, Prague and Budapest mid- August 2010. Folk Festival
The Ukrainian American sports center located at County Line and Lower State Rd, Horsham will host their 17th Annual Ukrainian folk festival starting at noon Sunday, Aug. 24. Admission is $15 per person; Children under 13 are free.

Slovak Festival
St. Augustine Church, Bridgeport, will hold their annual Slovak Festival, on the grounds of Our Mother of Sorrows Church worship site, Hurst Street in Bridgeport from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 and from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24. Anniversary and Restoration
St. Veronica Church will celebrate its 100th Anniversary by undertaking a huge project: giving back to the community and restoring the magnificent pipe organ. Day of Scripture
Mother Boniface Spirituality Center, 3501 Solly Ave., Philadelphia, will host a day of Scripture from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23. A professor from Catholic University of America will speak on the Book of Isaiah and its place in the history of Christianity, its role in the Gospels, and the Suffering Messiah. Arbor Day foundation
Everyone who joins the Arbor Day foundation during August 2008 will receive 10 free white flowering dogwood trees. The free trees are part of the nonprofit foundation’s “Trees for America” campaign, a program dedicated to environmental stewardship through the planting of trees. The trees will be shipped postpaid between Oct. 15 and Dec. 10, at the right time for planting. Vigils for life
The Helpers of God’s Precious Infants will conduct a vigil for life on Saturday, Aug. 23. Father John R. McFadden will conduct the vigil at Presentation B.V.M. Church, Cheltenham. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 a.m. at Tabor Road abortion center, followed by Mass at 8 a.m. at Presentation.

Summer Sinulog 2008
The Filipino American Community of Old St. Augustine Church, Philadelphia, will hold their Summer Sinulog 2008 at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, commemorating the 16th anniversary of the enthronement of Señor Santo Niño de Cebu. 104th Feast of La Madonna Del Soccorso
Holy Saviour Church will hold a solemn concelebrated Mass at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17. The M.S.S. lodge of Norristown celebrates its 104th Feast of Maria Santissima del Soccorso di Sciacca after Mass, the traditional street procession through Norristown’s east end. Social activities at Saviour Hall, formerly Monsignor Delia Hall, start at 10 a.m. with Italian food.The hall is air conditioned and free parking on the school lot.
