This website is meant to serve all of you who work so hard to protect life in all its stages and who spread the Gospel of Life. Here you will find resources to learn more about Respect Life issues and the Church's commitment to uphold the dignity of the human person from conception to natural death. You will find ways you can get involved with activities that advance a culture of life and enhance your already existing Respect Life ministry. You will also find on this website about ways you can take political action on issues that affect human life and dignity on the local, state and national levels.


Please join us for the 39th Annual March for Life
January 22 – 23, 2012

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has a long history of active participation in this most important national event in defense of innocent human life.

The March for Life activities will begin on Sunday, January 22 with an Opening Mass at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at 6:30 PM. Principle Celebrant and Homilist will be Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, Chairman of the USCCB Pro-Life Committee.

On Monday January 23rd Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap. will celebrate Mass with the faithful of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia attending the March for Life. The Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC.

The March for Life Rally will begin at the National Mall at 12:00 p.m. The meeting location for participants from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia is on the corner of Constitution Avenue and 6th Street - in front of the National Gallery of Art. We will process behind the Archdiocese of Philadelphia banner, which will be carried by seminarians from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. The March for Life is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
