New Guidelines to Access Outpatient Counseling Services
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia recently revised guidelines for the provision of counseling services for survivors, child victims, and family members who have experienced sexual abuse by clergy or other employees of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. In order to receive assistance for counseling you must make a formal allegation of sexual abuse.
Counseling is provided for 12 months with unlimited visits to a licensed therapist.
You are not required to utilize private insurance for payment of outpatient counseling.
After the initial 12 months sessions will be re-authorized upon receipt of a certification form which is completed by your therapist.

Psychiatric evaluation and medications are reimbursed if needed to successfully engage in therapy.
Reasonable transportation expenses and child care expenses are also reimbursable. These costs should be discussed with your assigned Victim Assistance Coordinator.
There are no requirements to produce releases of information or progress reports for treatment.
